Monday Summary

Where do I start?? It all took off on Thursday! I had to do a presentation for college which involved lecturing the class on management accounting for an hour but one of the group members was too nervous and bailed an hour before the presentation! So I had an hour to learn his part of the presentation which made way more nervous. So I don't think it went a well as it could have.

Next I had tickets to a comedy gig on Thursday night but I managed to get the dates mixed up and I missed it as I was on the previous week. I was devastated as I was looking forward to a good laugh after my awful day but I remained positive as it could be must worse.

On Saturday it was St Patrick's Day here are a few pictures from our local parade. I live in a small enough town so the parade is pretty tame.

On Saturday night I headed out bowling which was good fun. I got 6 strikes in one game!! I don't know how I managed that because usually I am rubbish at bowling!!

Next we headed to the cinema to see 21 Jump Street. I enjoyed it. It was nice just to sit down and watch something not to taxing and just have a laugh.

Hope you all have a lovely weekend xxx And that all the Mummy's had a lovely relaxing Mothers Day xxx

Just wanted to do a quick post on an event I am currently taking part in. Its called a Blog Hop and is been hosted by Blog Love Therapy.

I wasn't familiar with Blog Hops before this week so incase some of you haven't heard of them I will briefly describe it. Every Monday Blog Love Therapy publishes a blog post which allows you to enter your name and blog link and then your information is displayed on the post. What you have to do in turn is simply follow Blog Love Therapy, write a blog post about the Blog Hop and finally hop around and follow 5 other blogs. I think it is a lovely idea where you can find new blogs, new friends and increase traffic to your own blog xxx

Frizz-ease 3 Day Straight

Before

I have been using Frizz-ease 3 day straight for about 1 year now and honestly could not be without it!!  As you can see from the above picture I have thick and wavy hair and if I don't straighten it, it kind of looks like I have stuck my finger in a plug socket :)

What I usually tend to do is wash my hair and let it dry until it is approximately half dry then I part my hair in different sections and spritz in the Frizz-ease ensuring I only spray a small amount and in the direction of the ends as I do find this tends to make my hair greasy so less is more.

Next, I section my hair again and blow dry it all straight with a barrel brush. The hairdryer I use is a Parlux 3000 and finally I run the GHD through it.

I have also applied a tiny drop of Macadamia Healing Oil Treatment to the ends. Only when I took the below photo did I realize how much I need my hair cut!

After

I would definitely recommend the Frizz-ease 3 Day Straight if your hair is similar to mine. I find it tames my hair down and gives me a much smoother blow dry and it also remove and frizz. I find once my hair will stay straight for the 3 days but the only drawback as I mentioned before is that by the third day my hair looks greasy whereas without this product in my hair it would normally not appear greasy.

Have you used this product and what did you think of it?

Gelish DIY

What you will need

Acetone
Nail File
Cuticle Stick
Lint Free Wipes
Buffer
UV Lamp
Harmony Nail Prep PH Bond
Gelish Foundation Gel
Gelish Pink Smoothie
Gelish Top It Off

Step 1 - You will need to start with clean nails. First file them into the shape you would like and next gently push back your cuticles. Next just gently buff your nails and wipe them with acetone to ensure all oil and dust has been removed.

Step 2 - First you need to apply one coat of Harmony Nail Prep PH Bond. This just dehydrates the nail plate which aids in the application of the gel. There is no need to cure this coat under the UV light.

Step 3 - Next apply one coat of Gelish Foundation Gel. When applying the foundation gel it is important to apply a very very thin layer and also ensuring none of it touch your cuticles or the skin surrounding your nail as if it does it will make your manicure more lightly to chip. Also give the free edge of each nail a light coating of the gel as this will also help prevent chipping. You then have to cure this coat for 1 minute under a UV light or 30 seconds if you have a LED light.

Step 4 - Now you can apply your first coat of colour (I am using Pink Smoothie) You apply this in the same manner you would apply nail varnish but as before make sure your apply a thin coat and avoid getting product on your skin and also remember to coat the free edge of your nails. When you have applied your first coat of colour you will have to cure it once again under the UV light for 1 minute.

Step 5 - Next simple apply another coat of your colour and cure once again for 1 minute under your UV light.

Step 6 - Nearly there, now you just have to apply one final coat of the Gelish Top It Off using the same methods as the above steps and cure once again for 1 minute.

Step 7 - Finally you just have to wipe your nails with rubbing alcohol to remove the tackiness and you are good to go.

The result

It takes a good few practices to get the hang of it and create the perfect manicure. I still can not get mine to last me the entire 2 weeks so I definitely need more practice but it lasts longer than a normal manicure and I find my nails grow longer with the gel on. I am going to try and sandwich a normal nail varnish colour in between the foundation coat and top coat and see how I get on with that. I will let you know if it is a successful mission. If you have any questions feel free to ask me in the comments below xxx

What's in my shower

1. Sanctuary Hot Sugar Scrub - I use this approximately once a week in the bath rather than the shower but it doesn't really matter. I love this because as soon as it hits your skins, it heats up which is heaven. It is like you are having a spa treatment in your shower and it also leaves my skin lovely and soft.

2. The Body Shop Satsuma Body Polish - I bought this a while ago as I love the smell of The Body Shop Satsuma body butter and I was hoping this would layer the scents. It does smell lovely in the shower but doesn't linger on your skin. I do enjoy it but i just use it as a shower gel rather than a scrub so I won't be repurchasing this.

3. Lush I Love Juicy Shampoo - I just recently purchased this as my hair has become slightly greasy and this is designed to remove product build up. I hate the smell of it I don't think it smell anything like fruit but it does a great job on throughly cleaning your hair so it is going to become one of my staple hair products.

4. Kerastase Nutritive Shampoo Bain Satin 1 - This is usually my favourite shampoo but lately I have been using my Lush shampoo. I can   totally tell the difference when I wash my hair with this shampoo rather than a supermarket shampoo. I have thick frizzy hair so a good shampoo and conditioner is essential.

5. Palmolive Naturals Honey & Milk - This is just the shower gel I am currently using and it changes regularly depending on what is on offer in the supermarket. I do love the Dove Go Fresh range tho.

6. Clarasonic Mia - I just use this in the evening to cleanse my face. I have a review on it here.

7. Kerastase Nutritive Nutri Thermique - I have been using this conditioner for years now and I honestly don't think I will ever change. I really tames down my frizzy hair and keeps it in healthy condition and considering I assault it with the hair dryer and GHD after every wash my poor hair needs this. It is on the pricey side but I find a little goes a long way and the tub usually lasts me approximately 3 months and I have very long hair.

8. Lush Ultra Bland - This is my holy grail of cleansers! I use it every night to remove my make up. I love it as it leaves a film on my skin which I find really helps my dry skin and ensures I don't have many dry patches.

9. Venus Divine Razor - There isn't much to say about this really. It does the job but I really should go back to waxing but I hate waiting for the re growth to be long enough in order to wax.

If you would like me to review any of the products in more detail just let me know in the comments below xxx Welcome to all my new followers and thank you for following I really appreciate it. xxx
