Tip: Scheduled Posts Not Working?

Now I don't know if it was just me being thick or if many of you had this problem? For ages I could never manage to get my posts to schedule. I searched the Google box and noticed many people had the same problem but no one could offer a solution. I had tried everything, to scheduling at different time to ensuring my time zone was correct but to no avail.

Suddenly, one day it dawned on me! The PUBLISH button. Every time I had set my schedule in the post setting I had never clicked publish afterwards. I figured why would I sure I didn't want to publish my post yet. Well, low and behold in order to schedule a post you have to set your post to the date and time you wish to post it and then press publish and it works a charm.

I am sorry if I have insulted you with this post but, honestly it was months before I realised this and whilst searching online seen quite a few people were in the same predicament. Hopefully I have helped a few of you out.

Bourjois Magic Nail Polish Remover

I am a little late on the band wagon with this one, but I thought I would add my two cents to the collection. I bought this in Boots recently while I was in Dublin. I have been wanting to try it for ages mainly because of the novelty factor.

The Price
It is expensive for what it is, a sponge soaked in nail varnish remover. But personally I think it is totally worth the money. If you are lazy like me and procrastinate about getting a piece of cotton wool and soaking it in nail varnish remover then this is the product for you! It is so simple and takes a matter of minutes to complete. Although whilst removing my nail varnish with this today I looked down at my toes and thought, umm thats not going to work. You will still have to purchase nail varnish along side this which makes this even pricier and may put some people off.

The Packaging
The packaging is cute and feels durable and it has a good weight to it. I absolutely hate putting my finger in the hole as it feels gross but it does the trick so I cant complain. I feel they could have glued the sponge around the edges as sometimes it moves when you are twisting your finger.

The Product
The product is fantastic apart from the blatant lie on the packaging. Remove nail varnish in 1 second per nail... I think not more like 6 seconds but, I can deal with that if it means not rooting out cotton wool etc. It also smells pleasant unlike some nail varnish removers. I do wonder how long the product will actually last and if the sponge will get clogged with nail varnish after time. I also haven't tried removing glitter polish with it yet. I can see this causing a little difficulty.

DIY
When my this runs out I am going to try and make my own. Basically I plan to buy a sponge cut it so it will fit in the original Bourjois bottle and pour in some acetone free nail varnish remover. I think acetone free would be the best bet as acetone may evaporate and cause the sponge to disintegrate. What do you guys think?  Do you think this will work? I shall document the process and let you know how it goes.

After all being said I love this product for it conveniences purposes and if my DIY method doesn't work out I will most definitely buy another.

NOTD: Orly Hottie

Firstly I apologise for the state of my nails. I have just removed my gel nails and my poor nails are suffering from it. I removed my gels nails as it is not feasible to maintain them whist I am in college and not working but god I miss them! I always manage to chip and destroy my nail varnish within minutes of doing it and my nails always tend to break so I never ever have a perfect manicure. To counteract this is actually bought Kiss clear fake nails and plan to paint them.

Anyway back to NOTD. This beauty of a colour is Orly's Hottie. Lately I have been going crazy over neon colours and this one is no exception. I love it! It is easy to apply and the colour is most definitely neon when on the nail. The only drawbacks with this is it dried matte and also took forever to dry! In the above picture I have applied two coats which you definitely need otherwise it is very streaky. Also I am not a fan of the price. This is a mini bottle so for €7.95 it is extortion! I do enjoy the mini bottles as I cant see myself using an entire bottle of neon pink nail varnish but I think €5.00 would be a more realistic price point for the size of the bottle.

Have you tried any Orly nail varnishes? What colours would you recommend?

Beauty Wish List

Beauty Wish Lish

Urban Decay All Nighter €26.00
I have being eying this product up for a while now but was unsure if it was worth the money but I was in Dublin last week and was having a smooch around the Urban Decay counter and I sprayed this on my face and thought nothing of it, but low and behold when I looked in the mirror hours later my makeup was perfect, as if I had just applied it. I am definitely going to purchase this the next time I am in Dublin.

Soap And Glory Some Like It Hot £8.00
I just want to try this out as it sounds heavenly. I am in love Sanctuary Hot Sugar Scrub as it feels amazing when you apply it. It actually heats up when it touches your skin and for a cold creature like me this is manna! For that reason I want to see what the Soap & Glory one has to offer as it is cheaper and smells delicious.

Models Own Bubble Gum £5
For some reason this summer I have gone mad into neons. I have just removed my gel nails (badly) so when they return to a somewhat healthy state I want to paint them this beautiful colour.

Bioderma
This has featured on so many blogs with most of them giving it good reviews. I really want to try this as  I use my Lush toner to cleanse my face in the morning and nothing else because I find when cleanse too often my skin can get irritated. This is why I think Bioderma would be the perfect solution for me. Unfortunately it works out fairly expensive to ship to Ireland and if I end up loving it that would be an expensive habit so I shall continue my search for a dupe. No doubt I will inform you if I find an alternative.

Caudalie Beauty Elixir
I have seen countless reviews on this and most girls claim its fantastic for spots. When I get stressed I tended to get the awful under ground spots which take weeks to heal. So I would love to try this and see what kind of results I get.

Chanel Les Ombres Quadra Mystic Eyes £37.00
I actually already have this palette but have finished the bottom two eyeshadow and they are my absolute favourites. They really make my eye colour stand out but yet they are subtle enough for day time wear. I wish you could just repurchase the bottom two colours by themselves as I haven't even made a dint in the top two.

Dior Addict Lip Glow €32.50
I also have that this product previously and loved it to death! It was just the perfect natural lip colour. It claims to colour your lips to their natural shade you know like the Smash Box O Glow? Well I don't believe that nonsense but it leaves the most beautiful pink colour on my lips and is super moisturising and it is very easy to apply.

Origins Brighter By Nature Peel Pads €44.00
I have wanted to try these for a while now after testing them in the shop. They left my hand super soft. I love the fact that they are a gentle exfoliator as my skin can get very irritated with regular exfoliators. I am a massive fan of the Origins Vitazing so I would love to try out some more of their skincare range. The only thing that has stopped me buying these is the price. Maybe it is the accountant in me but they only contain 40 pads for €44.00 that is €1.10 every time you exfoliate! I think that is rather steep.

Ysl Faux Cils Shocking €31.50
Shocking price more like!! I am a massive fan of the orginal YSL faux cils and usually pick it up at a  reduced price in duty free. Not anymore tho! My parents were on holidays in Malta in June and I asked my Mum to check in duty free and it was €29 and when I came home from Portugal it was around the same. I can not justify spending over €25 on a mascara.

Sweet Treat!

Considering it is coming up to winter or in my case an extension of an Irish summer because the weather has been terrible. Anyway I thought I would share one of my favourite drinks with you. It is really simple to make and is oh so comforting on a cold evening.

What you will need - Hazelnut Drink (or regular milk)
                  1 Teaspoon of Nutella

I spotted this Hazelnut drink in Tesco recently and thought that would be amazing in hot chocolate and I was right it is gorgeous. I originally thought that a Hazelnut drink that might be a healthier option than milk but be under no illusion it is full of sugar probably the reason it tastes so yummy.

Anyway I shall insult you with the instruction just incase any of you are like myself in that my cooking skill are in dire need of improvement so I never shy away from directions.

You can choose to use Hazelnut drink or regular milk. If you are using regular milk you may need to add more Nutella depending on how sweet you like hot chocolate. The first time I used the Hazelnut drink I whacked in my normal two teaspoons of Nutella and found it way too sweet and believe me I have an extremely sweet tooth.

Simple, pour a cup of Hazelnut drink in a pot and gentle heat it when it is luke warm add your tablespoon of Nutella and stir in. I find you actually need to whisk it in to incorporate it fully.

The Result - It did not last very long on order for me to take some good looking pictures I just kept sipping at it. Sorry.

Have any of you tried Nutella hot chocolate? Did you like it? As a massive Nutella fan so I am converted and could never go back to regular hot chocolate!

Dior Show Maximizer Mascara

I have always being huge a fan of mascara primers and have bought the Lancome version on numerous occasions. I was doing my friends make up a while ago and was raving to her how good it was but unfortunately my tube was on its last legs. I got a lovely surprise on the morning of my birthday when the same friend presented me with the Diorshow Maximizer. I was taken aback as how generous her gift was and the fact she had remember me raving about mascara primers.

Anyway down to business... I adore this primer! It makes my lashes look false, which is my book is a positive. I just apply it under my current  mascara (Max Factor False Lash Effect). You can use any mascara from drug store to high end the results will always be amazing.

Dior claims -

"A stroke of genius from backstage at the fashion shows, this unprecedented mascara base combines powerful lash treatment benefits with the enhancing effect of mascara. This is the first Dior serum base with a full lash-boosting effect that works both instantly and day after day."

I honestly do not think of it as a lash treatment. I have been using it for approximately three weeks now and have not noticed any changes in my lashes. It most definitely enhances my mascara but purely
temporally whilst I have my make up on.

"Instantly, its unique formula works like an incredible replumping coat to thicken the lashes. Lashes are immediately curled, thickened, lengthened and ideally prepared to magnify the effect of the mascara and maximize its hold"

Now this statement is  true. It does all of the above from thickening, curling and lengthening my lashes and it lasts all day.

I have to admit the Dior is very similar to the Lancome primer I can not tell the difference. So I am interested to try a drugstore version to see if it has the same effect. To the best of my knowledge Bourjois have one in their range. No doubt when I pick it up i will review it.

I am head over heals in love with mascara primers but I am unsure if I actually need them or not. You see if I spend the equivalent money on say YSL false lash effect I wouldn't actually need the primer but in saying that I feel the tube of primer lasts longer. And the primer takes longer to apply in the morning as it requires two steps.

What do you girls feel about mascara primers? Are they worth the money or should I just invest in more expensive mascaras?

John Frieda You Tube Tutorials

I recently received an email asking me would I like to check out John Frieda's new hair tutorials that are available their new You Tube channel. Well I checked them out and found them absolutely brilliant. I am not the greatest when it comes to DIY hairstyles. My hair is super thick and takes approx 40 minutes straighten so I tend to just straighten it and not to do much more messing as that is a style I am most comfortable with and it always turns out perfect with the help of John Frieda Frizz-Ease 3 day straight. (Review here
But having said all that I long to experiment with cute different looks and even find a look that is not so time consuming. I would love to be able to wash my hair spend 10 minutes styling and be good to go! Currently I need to use militarily precision when it comes to doing my hair.

One particular style I adore is the fish tail braid but as my hair is so thick I have always struggled doing it myself. But low and behold in the tutorial above they have given me the perfect trick which is to pop an elastic band in your hair before starting the braid and when you are finished you can simply slide it off. It make it so so much easier. I love fishtail braids as they look cute and casual and also that you have made an effort. They are great for college and work as sometimes it drives me mad having my hair in my face. The tutorial shows two fishtail braids but I just do one where I gather all my hair into a side pony tail and braid it over my shoulder.

John Frieda have 39 videos on their channel from beach waves (next on my list to try) to a top knot. I found the videos really helpful as they give step by step instruction which I need! And they also get the models to help create the hair style which gives me the impression it is definitely achievable at home.

What are some of your favourite hairstyles and products to use? Have any of you girls have thick long hair? What styles do you tend to lean towards?

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable 001 Honey Douce

I recently picked this up in Boots when I noticed it was very similar to the Clinque Chubby Sticks. Unfortunately I haven't had the chance to try the Chubby Sticks yet so I can not offer a comparison.
Although I have to admit I am really enjoying the Revlon version. It gives a beautiful natural tint to the lips and keeps them moisturised throughout the day. I sometimes find lip stains tend to be very drying. The only thing you have to ensure before applying this is that your lips are exfoliated as it can accentuate the dry patches. This particular colour is lovely and natural and has fantastic staying power even after eating and drinking.

They are super easy to apply as they have a pointed tip and you simply draw it on your lips and when you run out of product you can twist the silver end up and more product appears. They also leave a lovely glossy finish and have a nice minty taste which kind of tingles your lips. Or is this just me because I have not heard anyone else mention it.

I am definitely going to look at some of the other colours in the range and maybe pick up one of the more vibrant colours to take me out of my natural lip comfort zone.

Have you tried any of these lip stains? What did you think and is there any colours you would recommend for me to try?

July Favourites

Kim Kardashian
I do love Kim Kardashian but I dont think I would class her as one of my monthly favourites. So why include the photo? There is method to my madness. I absolutely adore her makeup in this photo which I spotted in last months issue of Stellar magazine. This leads me onto my first three favourites...

Inspired by Kim I decided to recreate the baby pink look and gathered together all my light pink make up. This was the lip combo I came up with and love it. I have also worn Nars Turkish Delight on top of the lipstick as it gives a lovely milky pink finish.

I have also being wearing this blush in my quest to recreate Kim's make up but I think I need a lighter pink. I would say for the past 3 months I have worn Mac blush in Lilicent creme blush every single day so I have welcomed the change with open arms and am loving the look of slightly flushed cheeks that Well Dressed gives.

I bought this eyeshadow in July and have being wearing it constantly. I just wear it alone for a nice wash of colour on the eyelids. I do find it creases at the end of the day but it is not that noticeable so I don't mind. This is a beautiful colour on in so far that it is natural but not invisible. I feel it would suit most skin tones. I will review it in comparison to Mac paint pots soon.

Pandora Bracelet
I wear my Pandora most days so it is an all time favourite but this month as a birthday present I received two new charms. I got the two charms whilst on holiday in Portugal so I will always have fond memories of them. The apple symbolises my obsession with everything Mac. This is a running joke in my family as my brother is a software developer and Windows through and through. The pink charm just matches the other coloured charms on my bracelet and I had wanted another glass charm for a while to balance my bracelet. You can see my full Pandora here.

Stellar Magazine
I love this magazine so much I actually bought a subscription for it. I have never done that for any magazine before! One of the main reasons I love Stellar is the fact it is an Irish magazine so everything advertised in it is available to me. I also like the variety of articles it contains, from beauty to lifestyle and fashion. This are the only magazines I actually hold onto as I feel I could look back on some of the articles.

Omega 3's
My hair and skin have become extremely dry since coming home from holidays so I have been taking fish oils in order to nourish from the inside out. Sometime I find no matter have much cream I apply my skin is still never moisturised enough. When this happens I start on a course of Omega tablets (sometime I even buy the childrens chewable ones so I can keep them in my handbag) and I  also try to increased my water intake.
