Hydralauron Moisture Jelly

I am a huge fan of the Hydraluron range. I can’t imagine not having the Hydraluron serum incorporated into my skincare routine. So when I spotted Indeed Labs had released a new product to the Hydraluron range to say I was intrigued would have been an understatement.

I used all my willpower and waited until this was on offer in Boots before I purchased it, as it has a hefty price tag of €29.99. I picked it up for €19.99 when Boots had a third off selected products offer on. One of the main things I love about this product is the packaging. It is a flat top pump that you press down on to release the gel. You can control the amount of product that comes out depending on how hard you push the pump. Indeed Labs recommend a pea size amount to be applied. This is a lovely hygienic method of dispensing the products rather than having it in a pot.
The Indeed Labs website states the following about the Hydraluron Moisture Jelly:

This refreshing moisture jelly can be used both morning and night.
Provides immediate and long lasting moisture protection
Helps skin regain optimal moisture levels
Defends against moisture loss and creates a protective film on skin’s surface
The product has a gel like consistency, and to be honest, I can’t tell the difference between the cream and the serum. I am aware it has two different ingredients and the jelly feels slightly thicker than the serum, but on the skin they feel the same.
I apply the serum first and I then apply the moisture jelly. For those of you who have used the Hydraluron serum you will be aware of the tacky feeling it leaves after you apply it. I find the cream leaves the exact same feeling and therefore makes me feel like I need to apply more moisturiser on top of it. You only get 30mls of the product which I feel is very little for the price you are paying. I haven’t been reaching for this product much due to the fact I don't feel it is moisturising enough and I appear to be flying through it.
My advice would be don’t bother wasting your money on the cream and go for the serum instead and you certainly don’t need both. Have you tried the Hydraluron cream?

Ro's Argan Body Conditioner

I was cleaning my room the other day and found my stash of empty Lush pots so I decided it was time to trade them in for a free face mask. Of course while, I was in there I could hardly skip the opportunity to pick up a few new products.

Recently, I had come across a review for Lush’s  Ro Argan body conditioner and I was intrigued as I hadn’t heard about this product before. Initially, I thought a body conditioner was a bit of a gimmick as you apply it in the shower and then rinse it off. Does that not mean you are technically rinsing the product down the drain? Anyway, being the sucker I am I still had to try it!

At €19.99 I think this product is fairly pricey for the Lush range. I don’t love the rose scent as find it a slightly pungent but I can deal with it for the result it gives. I washed my skin with regular shower gel to begin with and then I applied the Ro’s Argan body conditioner as if I was applying  lotion in the shower next, I lightly rinsed it off. When I got out of the shower, I have to admit I was really surprised at how moisturised my skin felt and looked.  It is a great product if you want that pampered feeling as it feels very luxurious.

I do enjoy this product, but don’t think I would repurchase it. The reason behind this is I don’t think it is worth the hefty price tag as you can use a normal moisturiser after you shower and get the same results for the same amount of effort.

Have you tired Ro’s Argan body conditioner? What were your feelings on it?

Pixi Glow Tonic

I have wanted to try the Pixi Glow Tonic for ages as I had read nothing but good reviews online. I was hesitant to purchase it as the postage to Ireland is £14.50 which is just insulting. To circumvent this problem I decided to use Parcel Motel. My order was over £35 so I was entitled to free shipping to England and then I just had to pay €3.00 for Parcel Motel.

So let me give you a little background on this product. It is a toner that you apply after cleansing your face. You apply a small amount to a cotton pad and wipe over your skin. It is designed to remove the dead skin cells. It definitely does this and this is what makes it such an amazing product. The ingredient behind this magic is glycol acid. I have found that my skin is a major fan of glycol acid and since using it I have had no cystic spots and a much clearer complexion. My skin tends to be very dehydrated and requires constant exfoliation, but I find when I use a regular exfoliator my skin becomes irritated so this type of toner is ideal for my skin. It ensures I never suffer with flaky patches anymore. There are only two negatives I would say about this product, one being that I dislike the scent, it smells like an old womans handbag. The second negative is that I find it slightly drying on my skin in comparison to the Clarins Gentle Exfoliator Brightening Toner but once I apply moisturiser my skin feels perfect.

I had high hopes for this product and purchased two of them. My verdict is that it is a fantastic product, but personally I rather the Clarins Gentle Exfoliator Brightening Toner (Review here). However, the Pixi Glow Tonic is £18 compared to €31 for the Clarins and apart from the dry feeling the Glow Tonic leaves on my skin the results are identical.

Are you a fan of glycol acid toners? Do you recommend any new ones for me to try?

Nieva Lip Butter Raspberry Rose

When I was in work the other week I noticed my friend using a cute lip balm, naturally I asked her what it was. She said it was a Nieva lip balm and asked me if I wanted to try it. From that moment on the search commenced. I say search because it took me over 2 weeks to find a store that stocked this particular lip balm, no one has the raspberry rose flavour. I eventually picked mine up in Asda for £2.00.

One of the main reasons I love it, is because it is so nourishing. Sometime I find drugstore lip balms look pretty but don't really work at moisturising your lips.  The tiny tin is super slick and handy for slipping in your pocket or handbag. The product smells beautiful and when you apply it, it doesn't leave a sticky residue and it leaves a milky pink colour on the lips

Sorry it is slightly used in the picture. I could not wait to use it. Have you tried any of the other lip balms from this range what did you think?

Lush Breath Of Fresh Air Toner

I am a big fan of Lush's skincare range. It really suits my sensitive dry skin. I use the Ultrabland cleanser religiously. However it is to oily to use in the morning. I find that sometime when I use too many products or over cleanse my skin it can become dry and sensitive. This lead me to spraying Breath of Fresh Air on a cotton pad and using that alone to cleanse my face in the morning. I deep cleanse my face in the evening so figured it is ok just to give it a gentle wipe in the morning to remove the natural oils. Does anyone find over cleansing irritates their skin?

This toner can also be used in the traditional way, as a toner to ensure all your cleanser has been removed. Or you can use it as a refreshing spray through out the day. Sometimes when I am super exhausted and instead of using a dehydrating face wipe I will use this to remove my makeup. This really is a multi-purpose product for me.

I love this toner as it doesnt irritate my skin and it leaves it feeling clean and refreshed. It has a nice faint rose smell that is not overpowering and it is suitable for all skin types. I usually purchase Lush Eau Roma Water but I picked up Breath of Fresh Air by mistake in the shop and I honestly didn't notice a difference.

Have you tried the Lush toners? What is you verdict on them and what are your favourite lush skincare items? I am always on the look out for new Lush products to try.

John Frieda Full Repair

This product is Holy Grail material for me! I know that is a bold statement but let me explain. I was sent this product to review over a year ago and I never really bothered to use it. I am put off using heat protectants as they tend to make my hair feel sticky/greasy. Anyway, during this period I went to the hair dressers for a trim, this trim resulted in me getting 4inches chopped off my hair, due to all the damage and my hair dresser giving out to me. From that moment I decided I was going to make a considerable effort to use heat protectant every time I styled my hair.

I started using the John Frieda Full Repair and whilst I loved the smell of it and liked how it made my hair feel I wasn’t blown over by it as I noticed no difference with my hair. I kept on using it and 7 months later I decided it was time for another trim. I know 7 months is too long. I am desperate at getting my hair cut, usually because I have to part with so much hair. Well the hair dresser was shocked. She asked what was I using as I had literally no damage and my hair was in great condition. This is all down to John Freida Full Repair.

I then proceed to rush out and purchase 3 more bottles on the 3 for 2 offer in Boots and I have been using it ever since. It is so easy to use and has just become part of my routine now. You simply spray this product on to wet hair before you use any hair tools and voila you are done. You won't see miracles instantly but trust me in the long run you will.

Have you used this product and what did you think of it?

Rimmel Match Perfection

I purchased this foundation ages ago and I tried it once/twice and for a reason that I can’t recall, I didn’t like it so it accumulated dust in my makeup collection. Recently I was being a good girl and making a conscious effort to use up all my old foundations before purchasing new ones. When I started using this for a second time, I fell in love with it. I feel it is pretty similar to the Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation. The consistency of the Rimmel Match Perfection is slightly thinner but I find they both have very similar coverage that being a medium but buildable coverage.

It gives a beautiful flawless finish that lasts all day. I wear this to work and after a 10 hour day my foundations still appears perfect. I apply it using my Real Techniques buffing brush and then I applied a little bit more to my Real Techniques sponge and pat that on my face. I  chose the shade 201 Classic Beige which can be slightly too dark when I don't have a tan, but I feel the shade the lighter shade would be too pale.

The only gripe I have with this product is on some occasions when my skin is particularly dry, it clings to my dry patches and oxidises. My skin has been behaving recently so I have been using this foundation everyday and am loving it.

What is your favourite Rimmel foundation?

Hydralauron Masks

You may have seen this product featured on my wish list a couple of months ago. Well, I finally caved and bought the Hydraluron masks with my Boots loyalty card points.

When I first spotted these masks I got very excited as I am a massive fan of the hydraluron serum review here. But when I investigated further I was slightly skeptical. I wondered was it just loads of the original Hydraluron put on a paper sheet and sold as a mask for a stupid price? Yes, they retails for a whopping €26.00 for 4 sheet masks.

However, despite all my reservations I had to try them. My skin has been particularly dry lately due to me being sick so I decided this would be the perfect opportunity to test my masks.

One thing I hate about sheet masks that they make them one size fits all which can be kind of awkward. Once I got the mask situated on my face, it felt nice and relaxing and slightly tingly. I left it on for 20mins. When I removed it, I simply massaged in the excess serum and applied my moisturiser. My skin felt lovely and smooth and plump afterwards. However, I don't think it made a massive difference to my skin. I definitely think there isn't much difference between the masks and the serum even though the ingredients are slightly different.

When I had finished with my sheet mask I felt there was still a lot of product on it so I rubbed it all over my legs as they are particularly dry at the moment. Now this is where it gets interesting. I was suffering from a vomiting bug all last week and during this time I applied the excess Hydraluron serum to my legs and not once did they become flakey. Normally when I am sick my skin goes like a lizard.

Would I purchase them again? Probably not, as I can't justify the price tag. Have you tried the Hydraluron masks? What was your opinion of them?

Soap & Glory Sexy Mother Pucker - Nudist

I say everyone at this stage knows that I am a huge Soap & Glory fan. I adore all their body products and they have featured in countless reviews on my blog.  However, I have only recently delved into their makeup line.

So far I have tried the Fast and Volume and unfortunately I was not a fan. I have a review here detailing why, if you are interested. Now, Sexy Mother Pucker Gloss Stick is an entirely different story.  I picked up it up after hearing Fleur De Force recommending it on countless occasions. I am now aware why she is such a fan. It is fabulous. It is the perfect combination of a lipstick and lip gloss. It glides onto your lips and leaves a lovely glossy shine but yet it has the pigmentation of a lipstick. I choose the colour Nudist as it is a “my lips but better shade”.

Since I have bought this it has become a firm favourite of mine and I see myself reaching for it daily.
The only negative remarks I have about this product is the poor colour selection on offer. I rushed back to Boots to purchase some more after I fell in love it, but was disappointed with the colour selection. In the end, I didn’t purchase any more of them. No doubt will repurchase Nudist time and time again. Excuse my picture, as you can tell this is a well loved lip gloss.

Have you tried the sexy mother pucker lip-gloss? What shade did you choose?

Homeware Haul

I recently popped in Homebase and was in awe at the vast amount of pretty items they have in stock. During the visit I refrained myself and didn't purchase anything, but some of the items played on my mind. I thought they would look cute in my blog picture so I caved and went back and picked up the above. I don't normally buy much in Homebase as I find they are very pricey, but all the items I picked on this occasion were reasonably priced. I really wanted this little saucer that said "favourite things" on it, but it was €12.99, totally not worth the price tag.

If you want to spruce up a room but don't want to spend a fortune, I highly recommend looking at Primark's homeware section. They have some really pretty items. I picked up a fabulous pink throw, the cream fleece pillow and the above fairy lights. Sorry the pictures aren't great.

What have you girls been graviting towards lately? As you can see I am on a homeware kick at the moment.

Needs, Wants & Essentials

Needs/Wants

I must have had my head buried in the sand lately. As only recently have these gorgeous Alex and Ani bracelets come onto my radar. I think they are adorable and I love the idea that you stack the bracelets rather than collect charms. There is a few in the collection that I want, but the heart one is on the top of my list. I also love the fact that they are very reasonably priced at approx. €30 each.

One of my work colleagues was wearing this recently and I thought it was absolutely beautiful. It is super delicate and really simple but very pretty. I don't own any nice rings so this is on the top of my wish list.

I was in town during my lunch break the other day and when I was wandering around I spotted this beauty. It is beautiful and a lot brighter in real life. I would love to splurge and purchase it, but how much use would I actually get out of it? I feel if I am going to splurge on a handbag it should be one with a timeless style. I am in need to a good black handbag for work, so this will have to firmly remain on my wish list.

I have been stuck in a rut with my wardrobe lately. I feel I am wearing the same items constantly. I read that when you feel like this you should go back to basics. This staple will match with most items. I want it to pair with my skinny jeans and just pop a coat over it.

Dylon Black Dye
This is a random item on my wish list, and technically it shouldn't feature on my 'wish list' as I am going to purchase it within the next few days. However, my friend recently mentioned this product and I had to share it with you as I had never considered using it but thought it was a fantastic idea. Do you find that your black jeans fade? My Topshop "Leigh" jeans are guilty of this! Well, instead of always buying a new pair, just dye your old pair. This dye makes it a super simple task. You just empty this sachet into the washing machine drum and voilĂ  your black jeans are as good as new.

New Look Buckle Ankle Boots
I don't know why at the onset of summer I decided I am in dire need of black ankle boots. I think this is a knock on effect from my wardrobe rut. I am wearing my Ugg's far too much, but it was proving difficult finding a comfortable alternative. I saw these on New Look's website and ordered them. I hope they look as cute as the picture.

Converse All Star Oxford Black
I was trawling through Pinterest the other day and came across a few OOTD's where the girls had paired black converse with black skinnies and I really liked the look. I think it screams effortlessly cool. Therefore, I need them in my life.

Whistles Medium Clutch
This featured in one of my previous wish lists but I still have not bought it. I simply can't justify the price tag, as I mainly want to use it as a make up bag. Although I do feel it would last forever and you have the option of using it as a clutch. So I may be swayed in the future.

Juice Cube
I am sure everyone who owns an iPhone requires one of these in his or her life. It is an extra charge for your phone so if you are out and around and out battery runs out, you simply hook this device up to your phone and it will charge it. Ingenious? Yes! What would be more ingenious is if apple figured out to make your battery last more than 4 hours.

What is on your wish list? Or have you bought an item lately that you have been lusting after for quite some time?

NOTD Shellac Gotcha

I have become addicted gel nails lately. I have always struggled painting my nails, from smudging them within 10 mins of painting them or that they chip on the second day. It drives me crazy. As one of my pet peeves is chipped nails. Recently, I have found an amazing salon that offers a good price on Shellac and the girl who applies it, is fantastic. I find my manicure lasts up to four weeks. The only drawback is due to the fact that it lasts so long, I end up getting bored of the colour. But that is a drawback I can deal with.

Anyway, I had made an appointment but was unsure of what colour to go for. I kind of wanted a neon pink, but figured it was a bit early in the season for that so I searched Pinterest for inspiration. I saw a swatch of this Shellac colour "gotcha" and fell in love with it. The girl in the photo had a tan and it looked even better on her. Anyway decided to go for it and love it. It is a lovely girly pink that is lovely and bright for spring but not as obnoxious as neon. I opted for the glitter nail for a bit of fun.

What are your favourite Shellac colours? I can never decide what colour to choose.

Max Factor Miracle Touch Foundation

I have a love hate relationship with this foundation. I love it but hate the price and size of it! It costs a whopping €19.99 which I think is ludacris for a drugstore foundation and also due to the fact you are only getting 11.5g of product.

Putting the price and size aside, this foundation is beautiful. Normally I would never pick up a compact foundation as I have dry skin and find that they tend to cling to my dry patches. But when I tested this on the back of my hand it felt buttery soft and blended beautifully into my skin. I was in the market for a good compact to use for touch ups whilst out and about.

They have a good shade range available but I find I am in between two shades so I tend to opt for the lighter colour (Warm Almond 45) and apply Bourjois bronzing primer underneath. I apply the foundation with my Real Techniques buffing brush. It gives a flawless finish and I find it is long lasting but not drying. I have recently repurchased this foundation which is a testament to how much I love it but I am going to use it solely for touch ups.

Have you tried any Max Factor foundations? Let me know as I would like to try out some more in the collection.

Bank Account Blues

I have to admit I have been a bold girl of late. I have been splurging quite a bit. It started off with Boots offering 3 for 2! I always end up with about 9 items. Yes, I am getting 3 of them for free but do I really need all 9 items? No. But do they make me happy? Hell yes! I have been waiting for the 3 for 2 deal to appear in Boots for a while as I wanted to stock up on a few of my favourite foundations. I swap foundations regularly depending on how my skin behaving.

Whilst I was browsing in Boots I came across a Sleek stand. When have Boots in Ireland started stocking Sleek? This was news to me and I got rather excited at the stand. As you can see I picked up some cult favourites. Next I decided to repurchased a Seventeen lipstick in the shade Beehive. I love the colour and consistency of this lipstick. I also picked up, a Barry M nail varnish in white and Tresemme dry shampoo. Unfortunately whilst taking this picture I had totally forgotten what the last two items were and never photographed them. Sorry.

As I mentioned earlier I have been rather bold spending wise lately so I will have a homeware haul and a clothing haul coming up soon. Have you done any damage in the Boots 3 for 2 offer?

NOTD Shellac Bare Chemise

I decided to treat myself to a Shellac manicure last week as my nails were a mess and I didn't have the time to paint them. I am incredibly lucky that my local beauty salon do an amazing job at applying Shellac. It usually lasts up to 4 weeks. I have had some bad experiences where it has lifted within a week, not ideal. Usually when I make an appointment to get my nails done I have an idea of what colour I want to go for, on this occasion I hadn't a notion. This left me open to new suggestions. My only requirement was that the colour wasn't too bright. The girl who was doing my nails steered me towards the nude colours in the Shellac collection. I decided to opt for "Bare Chemise". This isn't a colour I would normal gravitate towards but now that it's on I love it. It is a semi sheer with a slight hint of shimmer. I really like the slight shimmer as I feel it lifts the colour. I am tempted to use my own nail varnish on top and add a glitter nail to the equation to jazz it up at the weekend. I love that my nails are understated but look groomed and taken care of.

Sorry I haven't been posting regularly lately. It has been "busy season" in work and I have been run off my feet. Thankfully things have calmed down now and I have more free time. Also I recently purchased some lighting equipment so this enables me to take pictures in the evening which in turn will make blogging far easier. If any of you would like me to do a post on the lighting kit I bought just let me know in the comments.

Do you have a favourite colour in the Shellac range? Comment below and let me know so I will have plenty of colours to choose from at my next appointment.

Chanel Orchid Rose Blush

I purchased this on impulse when my local pharmacy had a 30% off day. In the beginning I was totally in love with it. It leaves a beautiful natural glow on your cheeks and has very good staying power. The formula is lovely and it's not powdery or anything. Another positive is the packaging. Chanel's packaging is just beautiful and elegant. It has a lovely big mirror inside the compact which you can see your entire face so that is really handy when you are out and about.

I have been using it now for a couple of weeks and for some reason the top of it has gone scaly. I don't know if that is the correct terminology but you can see it in the above picture. You know when you put a wet brush in powder it leaves a film on the product? Well that is how my Chanel blush has turned out and I have never used a wet brush on it. I am going to have to scrape off the top layer on the blush which is going to ruin the look of my pretty blush. I am slight disappointed with this I have never experienced this with any of my other blushes. I will still use this blush when I have it doctored but it isnt one I reach for on a daily basis.

What are your favourite Chanel products?

Stila In The Light

It pains me to say this because I feel like I am the only one but I don't like this palette. Yes, it looks gorgeous and the shadows are lovely and pigmented. They also apply beautifully with no fall out, but I struggle deciding what colours to put together. I never know what combination to use. For this reason I never reach for this palette when applying my makeup. I much rather use my Naked or Mac eye shadows. Do you own and adore this palette? What colours do you use together? Please let me know in the comments. I really want to love it as it is so popular and it's not like the colours are gaudy, so I should be able to make it work for me.

Window Shopping

Random Wishlist

Urban Decay Naked 3
I have been lusting after this since Christmas but when push comes to shove I am unsure if I actually want it. I have heard mixed reviews on it. I admit it looks beautiful and would complete my naked collection but I never gravitate towards pink tone eye shadows so I feel this pallet would get lost amongst my other make up. I think I need to see it in the flesh before I make up my mind.

Clarins The Essentials Eye Make-Up Palette
I am trying to decide between this and the Naked 3 palette because heaven knows I don't need both. I think I am leaning towards purchasing the Clarins palette with a voucher I have but I do want to see it in person first.

Professional Lighting
You may have noticed in December and at the start of January my blog was completely neglected. One of the main reasons for this is that I constantly struggle to take decent pictures. I leave work at 8am and I don't arrive home until 6:30pm. This means I never have any natural light to photograph in and every weekend it seems to be to dark and gloomy to take photographs. A lot of Youtubers use these lights so I figure they are good quality and will do the trick.

Crate
This is pretty random for a wish list but it ties into my professional lighting. I saw Lily Pebbles post on how to make a crate for photography purposes and I really want to try it out as her photos look amazing.

Dre Beats
I usually have no interest in these kind of gadgets but recently I was in PC World and I hooked up my iphone to these. Well, low and behold they were amazing! They feel lovely and snug on your head and the sound quality was very good. They are featured on my wish list as I would love them as a present but I don't think I could justify purchasing them for myself.

Starbuck Tumbler
For work I can be on a client site or in the office. When I am in the office I have to catch an early bus to work and never have the time for my essential cup of tea in the morning. I already have a decent travel cup but I am actually in search of one without a handle so that I can slip it into my handbag when I am finished and it isn't taking up loads of space. Do you know how hard it has been to locate a travel mug with no handles? I have searched high and low. Unfortunately this beautiful Starbucks one only appears to be available in the USA.

Hydraluron Boosting Masks
I have only become aware of these in the past week! I have a massive fan of the Hydraluron cream as you can see here, so I got super excited when I seen they released a mask. I can safely forecast I will not be able to leave Boots without purchasing them on my next visit.

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder
This product should come with a tag saying Bloggers made me do it. I have read so many rave reviews online about this ambient lighting powder, that I feel I am actually missing out by not having it! Hopefully one day I will purchase it. For now it will remain on my wish list as the postage costs to Ireland are horrific.

What is on your wish list this month?

A Predominantly Chanel FOTD

Recently I was a little bold and picked up a few Chanel products. Chanel is definitely one of my favourite high end brands. I think I have only ever purchased one product from their range that I didn't like. Looking back at my photo now I should have used Chanel eyeshadows, but I have used up my all time favourite Chanel eye shadows that is the Mystic Eyes palette. That's the thing with Chanel because it is so expensive you tend to use the entire product. Anyway, here is my FOTD with mainly Chanel. I will have reviews coming up on my new products.

What is your favourite product from Chanel?

Soap & Glory Thick & Fast Mascara

I got this product in the Soap & Glory gift set when it was the star buy in Boots over the Christmas period. What a bargain, there was nine products included and it only cost €35. I was bold and picked it up as a present to myself. I was super excited to test some of the make up items in the range. I have heard rave reviews about Soap & Glory make up but whenever I look at the stand I never know what to try. Anyway, one of the items included in the kit was the Soap & Glory Thick & Fast mascara.

Unfortunately this product doesn't do it for me at all. I have used it twice and on both occassion I found it difficult to work with. When I first looked at the brush I was impressed as I am a fan of thick brushes but the mascara formula is very thick so it makes it difficult to apply. I also found that it didn't have much of an impact on my eyes.

I am really diaspointed to be writing a negative review regards Soap & Glory as I love so many of their products but this one just isn't for me. Im sure this is a one off product that doesnt suit me and it hasn't put me off the brand at all. What products to you recommend I pick up?
